Israeli-American conductor Yoel Gamzou unveils a fresh symphonic collaboration, oneMusic Orchestra. Bringing together renowned musicians, oneMusic is set to debut at Beethovenfest Bonn in September 2023, with an inspiring blend of classical and contemporary compositions.
Yoel Gamzou, the conductor who has captured the hearts of music lovers across New York and Tel Aviv, has embarked on a new and innovative venture. Titled oneMusic, the orchestra is a harmonious blend of European talent, featuring players from esteemed ensembles like the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra, the Hamburg Philharmonic, and the Vienna Tonkünstler Orchestra.
The excitement is building as oneMusic prepares for its grand debut in September 2023 at the Beethovenfest Bonn. Audiences can expect a riveting experience as the orchestra will perform Beethoven‘s iconic Fifth Symphony and the celebrated “Emperor” Piano Concerto. But what makes this performance truly unique is the addition of four pieces by contemporary composers, each of whom has made waves outside the classical music scene.
These creative minds include Andy Creeggan from Canada, Robin Haigh from the UK, Marshall McDaniel from the USA, and Florian Kovacic from Austria. Their involvement guarantees a performance that’s as novel as it is nostalgic.
Raised in the vibrant cities of New York and Tel Aviv, he was mentored by Winston Dan Vogel and had the honor of being the last student of Carlo Maria Giulini in Milan. His conductor’s baton has guided orchestras like the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, the Mozarteum Orchester Salzburg, and the Norwegian Radio and Vienna Symphony Orchestras.
His recent role as the General Music Director at Theater Bremen from 2018 to 2022 further solidified his reputation as a visionary in the field.
One of Gamzou’s guiding philosophies resonates with the spirit of Beethoven himself. He believes in looking forward, embracing the new, and asking, “What does this mean for us today?” This ideology shapes the essence of oneMusic, making it a beacon of progression in the world of classical music.
The oneMusic Orchestra embodies a spirit of innovation and tradition, promising to create memorable experiences for audiences. With Gamzou at the helm, it’s poised to become a symbol of musical evolution, bridging the gap between the classical and the contemporary.
